Palermo Airport Punta Raisi is 80 km east of Trapani (a 50-minute drive).

Trapani Airport Birgi halfway between Trapani and Marsala is just 20 km (a 20-minute drive) south of Trapani*.

By boat

Several shipping companies link the Port of Palermo especially to the ports of Naples (Napoli), Civitavecchia (near Rome) and Genoa (Genova). It is the ideal means if you wish to bring your own car to Trapani.

The Port of Trapani has regular connections to Leghorn (Livorno), Cagliari in Sardinia and Tunis.

Locally, the port of Trapani is linked to the islands of Pantelleria, Ustica, and especially the nearby Egadi archipelago (Favignana, Levanzo, Marettimo). During summer sea trafic intensifies since Trapani is also a port of call for cruise ship.

By train

There is no direct connection to Trapani from the continent.

If you wish to come to Trapani by train, you will have to take a train to Palermo.

In Palermo, you will be able to catch a train Palermo-Trapani.  To see timetabes and availabilities, please click here.

[INFO : from Palermo central station, we suggest you catch a bus rather than a train: the company Segesta has buses stopping just outside the station that will take you to Trapani. Segesta buses provide more and faster trips than the train]

Trapani is the arrival point of Motorway A29 Dir., 100 km west of Palermo. Whether you come by bus (see above) or by car, it takes about 90 minutes to get to Trapani from downtown Palermo (e.g. from Palermo train station or harbour).

From Palermo Punta Raisi airport, which is around 80 km east of Trapani, it takes about 50 minutes by A29 Dir.

Important: from Palermo (or Punta Raisi), take A29, heading to MAZARA DEL VALLO ; near ALCAMO, take the exit to TRAPANI.

From Trapani Birgi airport, which is some 20 km south of Trapani, 20 minutes will do.
